New Fortnite Weapons, Skins, and Many More

Fortnite 15.10 is going to be a huge patch for the game. Aside from it adding new skins in the Fortnite Item Shop, weapons, and a seasonal event, it’s also adding a few key features that will change the game for the better. Whether you’re a Fortnite veteran or a rookie who’s just starting out, by checking out the new skins and weapons in this patch, you can always purchase these new customization items for your Hero, glider, or pickaxe in Battle Royale. By using V-Bucks– the In-game currency, you can spent in both the Battle Royale PvP mode and the Save the World PvE campaign for buying items. In Save the World you can purchase Llama Pinata card packs that contain weapon, trap and gadget schematics as well as new Heroes and more! Without further ado, let’s check out what cool stuff the patch has to offer!

New Arms: East Meets West

Let’s begin with something that has to do with the action: new Fortnite weapons. The Cowboy Repeater Rifle and Dragon’s Breath Sniper. Regarding the latter, a similar weapon, the Dragon Shotgun, was added in Season 5, and it isn’t exactly a very popular or good weapon, so we’re hoping that the Sniper is going to be more effective. And when it comes to the Cowboy Repeater Rifle being good as well, we have our fingers crossed.

Let It Snow

As for this year’s winter event, there’s a bit of a change. Rather than the usual Winterfest, it will be known as Operation Snowdown. It will have its own quests, item rewards, and limited-time modes, which will be different from the usual Winterfest offerings. It’s only been one day and the event still has weeks to go, so you can expect a lot of surprises. After all, it’s the gift-giving season.

Indeed, Epic Games is truly into the spirit of giving, as players that log in throughout the event will be receiving freebies—many of which are event exclusives! The event will run from December 18 to January 6, so you get to bask a little bit in the holiday afterglow, as you’ll still be getting Fortnite items a few days after New Year.

Aside from the free stuff, the event will also introduce quite a number of new skins, many of which are obviously going to be winter-themed. Examples include Cozy Jonesy, which sports a red wool sweater with what looks like a horse or a donkey print on it, the skin definitely feels warm and fuzzy to look at, and the Snowmando, which looks like a Navy Seals winter gear, except it has a beanie.

Aside from the skins, the other thing that Operation Snowdown will not be handing out would be certain rewards. For them, you’ll have to complete challenges. Some of these include Deal Damage with Lever Action Rifle, Shoot down opponent structures with X-4 Stormwings, Collect gold bars, and many others.

Battle Royale Going Next-Gen

Now let’s go to the more technical parts of the update: increased resolution display for next-gen consoles, as it will be capped at 1440p for both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 and 1080p for Xbox Series S.

This is just one of the many updates Fortnite will have for next-gen consoles, as Epic Games is bringing the Battle Royale phenomenon into the future, allowing it to make good use of the more advanced tech.

It is even possible for the game to be in 4K and have 60fps in both next-gen consoles. Some even say that 120fps is possible in Xbox Series X, but that remains to be seen, and is even said to be an overestimation of the console. Nevertheless, it can’t be denied that the Xbox Series X is the more powerful of the two, but it’s still unsure if this will directly result in an observably better performance compared to the PS4.

Aside from this, the game will be receiving other graphical updates. The visuals will not only be more detailed, but also more dynamic, and so will the physics, making much of the things in the game world move more realistically. That means leaves, be it on trees or grasses, swaying like their real-life counterparts when the wind blows and explosions from Fortnite Weapons occur. The same goes for water and many other environmental effects. Included in that is the Storm, which will definitely feel more vicious this time around. Hopefully, this will finally be enough to dissuade players to stop hanging around it.

Battle Royale Among Us

Last but definitely not least would be the new limited time mode called The Spy Within. If the heavy tongue-in-cheek parody hasn’t hit you yet, well, it’s supposed to be a reference to Among Us, a social interaction game that has taken the world by storm. If you’re living in a rock, think of Among Us as a Werewolf board game, except it’s a video game set in space.

The Spy Within works pretty much the same way, except that it’s an espionage-themed Fortnite mode. There are two spies that need to take out the rest of the agents, while the other agents have to figure out who the spies are. Agents can’t, or rather shouldn’t talk except in meetings, where they’ll be able to vote out the agents they suspect of being a spy. Guess it right and they win, guess it wrong and they’ll be taken out one by one.

‘Tis the season for Fortnite players to be jolly, as Patch 15.10 is bringing new and much-needed content and improvements that will undoubtedly make the game better, ready for the future, and keep it fresh. Stay tuned for bigger, better things!
