As PC requirements become more affordable, and as more titles with VR support become available, Intertops mobile casino virtual reality gaming is becoming more accessible. As technology improves, the games get better from one year to the next. Today VR and AR games are realistic, intuitive, interactive, and compelling. Some of the best of 2019 (so far) include:

Archangel: Hellfire

Archangel is a mech shooter. There’s a single-player story campaign for the PC and PS4 versions of the game. As the campaign begins, the player is placed in the cockpit of a building-sized mech where s/he can control the mech’s two arms along with an array of weapons that are used to dispatch waves of incoming enemies. Players use mech mitts to swat enemies. This on-rails experience is best played while seated.

In the PC version, players enjoy full control over the mech via the free stand-alone competitive multiplayer mode.  The player can move in all directions and unlock the mech chassis and skins to experience a robust upgrade path. Additional features are available in the multiplayer mode with a purchase of the DLC campaign on Steam.

Catan

Catan is a VR game that brings the popular board game Settlers of Catan into VR space. Up to four players can play at once. Each player has a motion controller that he can use to select and place the pieces. The gameplay follows the traditional Catan board game but in the VR version, each player can engage with his fellow players as though they’re in the same room.

Catan VR doesn’t rely on a  PC, smartphone or game console.

Moss

Moss gives you a simple VR experience in which you guide a small mouse named Quill through a fantasy world. The storyline involves Quill’s attempt to save her uncle from an evil snake. You don’t need to sit to play Moss since the gameplay is best while standing. The player controls Quill using the controller’s direction buttons from a distance. Quill moves through her surroundings, fights enemies and jumps across gaps.

Players peer into the environments which are set up like dioramas which creates a storybook atmosphere. You control The game features motion controls that allow the player to manipulate the environment as Quill evades obstacles.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR

2011’s single-player, open-world epic has been turned into a full VR translation of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Now, with VR, players get a much closer look at the world of Tamriel with fully tracked motion controls for the right and left-hand equipment that allows for blocking incoming attacks and swing the sword using realistic gestures. The game world moves via teleportation, walking around using a room-scale set-up or direct input on a controller.

The previously released DLC expansions such as Heath fire and Dawnguard include this version of Skyrim. The only downside is that some visuals look a bit dated since the graphical upgrade of Skyrim seen in Special Edition is missing from the VR version.

Rec Room

Rec Room is a free, low-impact social sandbox that’s full of things to pick up, items to toss, places to go, objects with which to interact, and some minigames that you can play solo or with others online. Rec Room plays equally well either seated or from a standing position.

The game is a social experience with multiple people on mic. There’s not a lot of exploration in this game but this is a good, basic game that can be used to introduce new VR players to the world of in-depth VR experiences.

Batman: Arkham VR

In Batman: Arkham VR you put on your bat suit and take to the streets of Arkham City to fight crime. Even though this is one of the earliest VR games it still gets you into the heart of the action. Players teleport to designated positions in the bat cave, the Wayne Manor, the bat cave and around the city. The action consists of merging efforts with the Nightwing ship and throwing bat-rings.

The detective Batman is featured in this game, making it a slower-paced, more cinematic gaming event. Throughout the game you, as Batman, must study crime scenes and stay aware of dangers in the environment and as you immerse yourself in the world of Bruce Wayne.

Doom VFR

Doom VFR is the VR adaptation of 2016’s popular Doom. Rather than be a full port into VR, Doom VFR features a different story and campaign with combat dynamics designed with VR in mind. Players can play standing or in room-scale setup. Enemies come from all directions but the player can raise or lower his profile and turn around quickly to meet the attack.

There’s a controller for free movement and a teleportation system for covering large distances.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Star Trek games always offer the best in gaming entertainment and Bridge Crew is no different. The game gives you the chance to join Starfleet as one of four characters onboard the USS Aegis: Captain, Engineer, Tactical or Helm.

Throughout the game players are in constant communication with crewmates as they explore space, avoid natural hazards and defend against enemies. Throughout the game, the player remains seated so there’s no chance to explore the bridge or move around. Each player handles the workstation that is assigned to his/her character. Motion controllers are used to interacting with the ship’s controls.

Players can issue specific voice commands to three AI crewmembers in single-player mode but the game works best in online multiplayer.

Polybius If you’re looking for a strange game, try Polybius. Polybius is an arcade-style, shoot’em-up, the high-score game that relies on an awesome sense of speed and a psychedelic “trancetastic.” In its most basic form, this is a shooter but there’s lots more to do—mainly avoiding collisions with objects that come hurtling through the air. There are 50 linear levels that combine with the game’s old-school arcade feel. Basically, you never know what to expect.
