Top 3 Mobile Games of 2022 so far

Mobile games are a very fast-moving market. What will be popular one week can quickly fall out of favor another week which is part of the success of mobile gaming. However, some games are able to elevate themselves above the rest and become mainstays on your phone for years to come. Think of games like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja that were released over a decade ago and are still being played today. While not all games can reach those lofty heights, we’ve rounded up our top 3 mobile games of 2022 so far that we think can survive long past the gaming market cycle.

Dungeons of Dreadrock

Dungeons of Dreadrock is a reimagining of the dungeon crawler genre, where each room in the dungeon is a puzzle room that must be solved before you can move forward. While this may not sound like an earth-shattering concept, it’s extremely well-executed and has some of the best puzzle design we’ve seen in a mobile game. In this game, you play as a young woman who is trying to free her brother from an ancient, unknown evil, and to do so you have to make your way down the 100 floors of the dungeon to find him and rescue him. One thing that really hits you about this game as you play it is its unexpected depth. It starts out like a generic dungeon crawler mixed with a puzzle game, but as you go deeper and deeper into the dungeon you start to find out that there is a lot more to the world than meets the eye. Its world comes alive as you play and you feel truly immersed in the experience and invested in the characters, which is a lot to ask for from a mobile dungeon crawler. Based on its world-building and brilliant puzzle design, Dungeons of Dreadrock gets a recommendation.

Knotwords

With Wordle’s viral success, it seems word games are making a comeback in the general zeitgeist and Knotwords is here to take these games to the next level. Looking very similar to a crossword puzzle, Knotwords is closer to a logic puzzle than a traditional crossword puzzle as it rewards logic over knowledge. The aim of the game is to fill the blank spaces with letters so that every string of two letters or more forms a word when reading both down and across. Unlike a regular crossword puzzle, Knotwords gives you the letters you need for every box, and it’s up to you to decide how those words best allocate those letters to create valid words. It’s a very fun and addictive game, so if you’re a fan of word/puzzle games we would heartily recommend it.

Night Skate

The last game on our list is Night Skate, an endless runner game where you play as a skateboarder and the aim of the game is to stay on the board for as long as possible. This may not sound like a game that should make the top 3 list of anything, but its retro art design and surprisingly engaging gameplay makes it a game that’s hard to put down – and if that’s not an indicator of a good game, I don’t know what is. The pace of the game does not stop for a second, and as you get better at the game the aim becomes more about scoring points and doing sick tricks than it is about staying upright. A perfect time sink if ever you needed one!

There are so many more games that we could list here if we wanted to expand to a top 5 or even a top 10! Gaming on mobile phones has never been better, whether you want to play traditional games or even online casino games. As of the latter, a wide range of online casinos are available on your phone that are accessible no matter your country; from New Zealand to the UK to Canada! There are so many games to choose from, with blackjack, online slots, baccarat, and many others available to play. You can even take advantage of generous welcome offers if it’s your first time playing. If you don’t want to risk a lot of money, then a $1 deposit casino is a great option to play the games you love without breaking the bank. No matter what games you enjoy playing, mobile gaming is definitely here to stay.
